Beneficiary Project

The Daughters of Charity Community is a worldwide organisation and has been providing services for people with intellectual disability in Ireland since 1892. It is committed to the developmental potential of each person in an atmosphere characterised by love, respect and creativity.

In the Limerick region, the organisation provides services to over 450 people, covering all age groups with an intellectual disability. Adult Day Services are divided into different programmes to suit the needs of each service user and can be described as day activation, skills development and active retirement. Funding will enable: the setting up of a Specialist Day Activation Unit in Limerick which will be a significant development for current and future service users
