Dchas was established in response to a requirement for an organisation to represent the needs of people diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Dchas works in collaboration with the Departments of Health and Children and Education to highlight the individual needs of people diagnosed with ASD and to secure appropriate services for them.

Beneficiary ProjectDchas operates a daily advice and information centre in Limerick and provides summer camps and monthly support group meetings for families who have children affected by ASD. Funding will enable: the upgrading of the Red Hill House Respite Unit that provides respite breaks and an afterschool service for children the acquisition of a vehicle for the Unit to transport users who are without access to any transport facilities
