Beneficiary ProjectGlenstal Abbey is a Benedictine monastery in Co. Limerick set in a 500-acre estate with streams, lakes and woodland paths. The Abbey, which is dedicated to Saints Joseph and Columba, is currently home to a community of monks.
In the 1970s, a hospitality service for homeless men, `Men-of-the-Roads', was established, resulting in a four-bed facility being made available. A common characteristic of the men is alcoholism and isolation. Funding will enable: improvements to the facility with a new shower, toilet and sleeping accommodation affording appropriate privacy for those seeking a quiet `space' for recovery and recuperation
