Samuel L. Jackson and Aidan Quinn have confirmed they will play

World famous film stars, Samuel L. Jackson and Aidan Quinn have confirmed they will play in the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am on the 5th and 6th July 2010. The actors will join a host of leading celebrities including Hugh Grant and Kyle McLachlan along with many of the world's top golfers at Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort next July.
Samuel L. Jackson is a renowned actor having starred in major Hollywood movies and is now one of the highest grossing actors at the box office. Possibly his best known movie  is Pulp Fiction (1994), for which he won an Oscar nomination for his role as the ruthless Jules Winnfield alongside John Travolta.

Other movies that Jackson played in include The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) and Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995). In the eighties, he became well known by three movies made by Spike Lee - Do the Right Thing (1989), Mo' Better Blues (1990) and Jungle Fever (1991). He received a Silver Berlin Bear for his part in the movie Jackie Brown (1997) as Ordell Robbi.
Aidan Quinn was born in Chicago to Irish parents who raised him in Illinois as well as Dublin and Birr. Last Saturday, he was awarded an IFTA for Best Actor in a Supporting Role as his character Nicholas Holden in the film 'The Eclipse.' He has continuously starred in films that allowed him to return to his Irish roots, such as 'Michael Collins', 'Song for a Raggy Boy' and 'Evelyn'.

Commenting on the announcement JP McManus said; "We are delighted that Samuel and Aidan have agreed to play in the Pro Am. They are a great addition to the line-up of confirmed players and we very much appreciate the time and support they are giving our fund-raising event. We look forward to seeing them playing alongside many of the world's top golfers at Adare Manor next July."

The aim of the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am is to support mid-western charities and groups in their work with the underprivileged and disadvantaged. All proceeds are donated in their entirety towards the development of these services and over €55 million has been raised since its inception in 1990. Once again, the beneficiary charities are organising pre-qualifying tournaments throughout the region in a bid to enter teams in the Pro-Am.

Spectators can choose from one of eight different coloured "two-day entrance caps" representing Ireland, Munster Rugby and each of the Munster counties. At a cost of €50 each they can be purchased from the website on www.jpmcmanusproam.com or at selected retail outlets.
