Camilo Villegas Joins World-Class Field for JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am in July

Colombia's Camilo Villegas, who claimed his third career win on the PGA Tour when capturing the Honda Classic in impressive style on Sunday, has committed to join the world-class field for the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am at Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort in Adare, Co Limerick, on July 5th and 6th 2010.

The 28-year-old South American, currently number 12 in the official world rankings, is one of the most flamboyant and charismatic players in world golf and has been given the moniker of "Spiderman" on tour for the manner in which he crouches on the greens to line up his putts.

Villegas, a sporting superstar in his home country who has also captured a global fan base in recent years, won the season-ending tournaments on the 2008 PGA Tour in the United States - the BMW Championship and The Tour Championship presented by Coca Cola - to become the first Colombian player to win on the main tour in the United States. His five-stroke victory over Anthony Kim in last week's Honda Classic gave Villegas his third win on the PGA Tour and his fifth worldwide.

Players previously confirmed for the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am include European No. 1 Lee Westwood, former US Open champion Jim Furyk, recent WGC-Accenture Matchplay champion Ian Poulter, ten-time European Tour champion Paul Casey, Rory McIlroy, triple-Major champion Pádraig Harrington and rising American star Dustin Johnson, who recently claimed the Pebble Beach Pro-Am title.

Commenting on the addition of Villegas to the field, tournament host JP McManus said: "We're delighted that Camilo has agreed to play in the tournament in July. He is a wonderful addition to the event and is sure to prove a terrific attraction to the Irish golfing public."

The aim of the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am is to support mid-western charities and groups in their work with the underprivileged and disadvantaged. All proceeds are donated in their entirety towards the development of these services.

A record number of overseas and Irish visitors are expected to come to Limerick to enjoy the golf and atmosphere. Spectators can choose from one of eight different coloured "two-day entrance caps" representing Ireland, Munster Rugby and each of the Munster counties. At a cost of €50 for two days entry, they can be purchased from the website on www.jpmcmanusproam.com or at selected retail outlets.
