Catherine Zeta Jones CBE

Catherine Zeta Jones was born in Wales to an Irish mother and Welsh father. Her role in ‘The Darling Buds of May’ was where she first made a name for herself, becoming one of the UKs most popular television actresses of the 1990s. She then rose to fame with her role as the fiery Elena opposite Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas in ‘The Mask of Zorro’ in 1998. Subsequently she has starred in many big budget blockbusters such as ‘Entrapment’, ‘Traffic’ and ‘Chicago’. Catherine has won an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for portraying Velma Kelly in the 2002 film adaptation of ‘Chicago’. Most recently, she has won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Desiree in ‘A Little Night Music’ on Broadway. Catherine was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 Birthday Honours
