Steve Webster

One of the most solid and enduring players on tour, Webster – who turned professional in 1995 after outscoring no less a figure than Tiger Woods to claim the silver medal as leading amateur at the British Open at St Andrews – has earned over €6 million in a career which has seen him retain his tour card every year since 1997. Webster’s best season on the European Tour came in 2007, a year when he won the inaugural Portugal Masters en route to finishing 31st on the Order of Merit. He dedicated that win to the memory of his mother, Val, who had passed away earlier in the year. Webster had three runner-up finishes last year and showed a welcome return to form in the recent Estoril Open de Portugal where he was tied-8th.
