Damien McGrane

Damien McGrane's route to the tour firstly took him through the PGA training system - where he learnt to be a club professional under Joey Purcell at Portmarnock and then as Brendan McGovern's assistant in Headfort before becoming the club professional at Wexford Golf Club - and it is one that has served him well. The Meath man made five visits to the PGA European Tour's Q-School (graduating in 2002 and again in 2003), and since finding his feet on tour has become a driven and determined player annually playing in over 30 tournaments. McGrane's maiden win on tour came in the Volvo China Open in 2008 and he followed up in 2009 with four Top-5 finishes on the European Tour... he topped the Irish PGA Order of Merit three times before deciding to chase his dream on tour...  is an avid fly fisherman when he gets the time to indulge in his passion.
