John Daly

John Patrick Daly is the original 'Grip-it-'n'-Rip-it' golfer. His swashbuckling style and feats of long-driving off the tee were first revealed in spectacular fashion at the 1991 US PGA Championship at Crooked Stick when, after only getting into the field as the ninth alternate, Daly - who'd played without a practice round after driving through the night to take his place on the tee - won his first Major. He claimed a second Major in 1995, defeating Italian Costantino Rocca in a play-off in the British Open at St Andrews. In recent years, a slimmed-down Daly - who lost over 80 lbs in weight after undergoing surgery - has taken to wearing colourful 'Loudmouth Clothing' on the golf course.
