A very gracious captain of the US team when the Ryder Cup was played at The K Club in 2006, Tom Lehman was a global player long before the term became a buzzword on tour. After losing his US Tour card in 1985, Lehman played the Asian Tour and on the mini-tours and, on regaining his full card for the 1992, came back a stronger and more determined player as evidenced by four Top-3 finishes in the Majors up to his breakthrough win in the 1996 British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes. Lehman has won 25 professional tournaments – including successes in Europe,Japan and South America – and accumulated over $21 million in career earnings on the PGA Tour . . . . he showed he retains a strong competitive streak when defeating Fred Couples and David Frost in the US Senior PGA Championship in May . . . . runs an annual golf tournament to raise funds in aide of Children’s Cancer Research ... is an avid fly-fisherman ... graduated with a degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Minnesota ... has won plaudits for his golf course designs.
