SUSTAINABILITY
Adare Manor have successfully implemented the International Sustainability Standard ISO 20121 prior to the upcoming JP McManus Pro-Am and is the first Golf Course in the World to achieve this. Adare Manor is committed to improving Sustainability across all aspects of the operation and implementing this standard will help drive continual sustainability improvements over the next five years to ensure we have World Class standards in place for the Ryder Cup in 2027.

WHAT IS ISO 20121?
ISO 20121 is an international standard for sustainable event management, created by the International Organisation for Standardisation. It shows that an event or an organisation can become more socially responsible and reduce its environmental footprint, all while continuing to be financially successful. WHAT WILL WE DO?
A Sustainability improvement programme is being implemented which will deliver continuous improvement year on year in areas including:

• Habitat & Biodiversity improvement
• Waste reduction
• Improving recycling/reuse
• Reduction in carbon and plastics footprint
• Community involvement/education

When we look back on the Pro-Am, we not only want to say we hosted a world-class gathering of professional and celebrity golfers, raising vital funds for charitable organisations in the Mid-West. We also want to say we did it with our environmental impact front and centre of our thinking. ISO 20121 will help us do that.
